Publication Gagosian Gallery – Warhol from the Sonnabend Collection 2009

Index

Text

A slip-cased catalogue of paintings from the collection
of Ileana Sonnabend, renowned gallerist and early supporter
of Andy Warhol.

The personality of both protagonists was captured in a design treatment that fused Warhol’s bold aesthetic with bourgeois European sensibilities. Tipped-in glassine envelopes contained facsimile reproductions of the original catalogues from three Warhol shows presented at Sonnabend’s Paris gallery
in the 1960s.
