The object-labelling system used a bespoke aluminium extrusion to support and fix texts to plinths, shelves, rods and walls at a variety of viewing angles. For each object-label the extrusion was cut to length according to the volume of text required.
The MAG initials, integral to the extrusion, made reference to the kind of maker’s mark which was often cast into Victorian structural engineering.
